In January of 2022, Rashmona introduced its first shelter- home in Dhaka city known as “Apon Ghor.” Apon Ghor provides the homeless children and elderly of Dhaka with a safe living environment, as opposed to their previous precarious shelters, along with access to good food, medical assistance, education facilities and other daily requirements. Moreover, the rescued orphans are able to find parental figures amongst the sheltered elderly, providing them with a new family and a newfound sense of belonging. As of Decemeber 2023, we have rescued over 30 children and over 90 elderly, and have also successfully reunited almost 20 children with their families.
