Threading new hope

In our contemporary society, women seeking to earn for themselves are often undermined, usually due to social stigmas against women working and the “traditional” dependency of women on their partners. Additionally, we must take into account the large number of destitute women, often dwarfed in our male- dominant society, struggling to make a proper living to contribute to their family. For these struggling women, Rashmona has established the
“Rashmona Shwapno Bunon.” Shwapno Bunon is our fully-funded vocational sewing training program provided to destitute women, so that they are able to make a living out of cloth-making. Our training center at Anondonogor, Merul Badda, Dhaka-1212 provides a 3 month-long sewing course. After completion of the course, these women are awarded free sewing machines, which they can use to start their personal earning ventures. In this way, Rashmona Foundation aims to empower the destitute women of our society and help them grow financially independent.
